"Golden" is my second creation using this technique. My husband took the photograph of our granddaughter on the shore of Lake Union in Seattle with the late afternoon summer sun and a light breeze blowing her golden hair. When my daughter saw this quilt for the first time, tears come to her eyes, hugged me saying in an unsteady voice, "Oh, Mom..." | ||
This reaction is typical with these quilts. The next reaction is to move in close to see the detail (many of the fabrics are patterned which adds dimension and movement.) The last, though certainly not the least, reaction, everyone wants to touch the cloth and trace the stitching, which is very acceptable because these pieces are washable. | ||
These handcrafted quilts make unique sentimental gifts treasured by all who receive them. | ||
