This was my first project using this techique.  The photo of our daughter was taken by my husband on a Spring weekend morning as she looked out over the water of Puget Sound at the pier in Des Moines, Washingrton.
He caught her in a quiet, contemplative moment.

Soon after this as taken she moved to Utah where she met her husband, Zack.  I made this quilt for them to celebrate their marriage.
I presented it to them at the rehearsal dinner.

When I first placed this quilt on the design wall and started setting the fabric mosaics, I wasn't sure the picture would work out.  As I continued to add the mosaics Nan's image started to bloom.  I was so excited I continued to work on it until I couldn't stay upright one more minute.
It was so fun and rewarding, I went to bed reluctantly, wanting to continue the work.
